Fine Art and Fashion Photography
I like to blur the line between play and danger. I create mystique through frustration and strange actions in order to act out a dream in a childish way using adults. The seduction and politics of the idyllic female form through advertising and fashion greatly influences my perspective. Using bizarre and unexpected materials – like vats of jell-o or hundreds of pink balloons – is a necessity in my work. I use models shown in possible turmoil, constraint, and uncertainty searching for something indirect. I am intrigued by the confusion between a model and her actions, and interested in portraying ambiguous interactions in temporary environments. The objects, colors, fashion, and makeup chosen are extremely important. I love to play with the ideas of absurdity and prestige; attraction and repulsion.
